Big Sur is easily one of my favorite places in the world, and finally shooting engagement photos here was a dream! Kayla and Tonny are one of my 2025 couples getting married at Miller’s Landing Arrowhead. Kayla told me it would be a dream to shoot in Big Sur, but she wasn’t sure about the logistics. Immediately, I told her we could make it happen. Big Sur engagement photos were something we both were thrilled to do.
Kayla saw a post about the Henry Miller Memorial Library and shared it with me. We both loved the idea of going to a cozy bookstore in the middle of redwoods, across from the ocean. The beauty of Big Sur includes that proximity of ocean and redwoods–perfect for photos.
Of course we made a whole trip out of it and spent hours together exploring the bookstore, the lodge by Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, and Pfeiffer Beach. I couldn’t have asked for better timing to show up on the beach for photos. It was the perfect timing for the sun to peek through the famous keyhole structure in one of the rocks.
If you’re looking to go to Big Sur for your engagement photos, you will not regret it! Check for road closures, as Highway 1 is susceptible to land slides and currently is closed for a portion on the southern end of Big Sur.
