Little Corona Del Mar Beach provided the perfect setting for a romantic photoshoot for a Audrey and Brendan, celebrating their 5th dating anniversary. This Orange County beach was backlit with a pink sunset, which was so fun and dreamy! Audrey and Brendan really wanted to reflect their youthful, fun-loving relationship, so we ran around in the water and sand to get photos full of movement and emotion. Some of these photos were simply begging for some film-inspired grainy edits.
Shooting at this beach was shockingly easy, considering how beautiful it was (I would have expected more people for an Orange County spot, but it seems that weekdays in the spring are more laid back!). If you’d like to do a photoshoot here, park at the top of the neighborhood and walk down the paved path to the beach. We barely had anyone around us on a Tuesday, and it was the perfect spot for a photoshoot in Newport without having crowds around us. The beach was kind of in two sections thanks to a creek that runs into the ocean, and so we camped out on the further end of it to steer clear of any other guests.
For these photos I used both moving and emotional prompts and poses. Some of the time, I had these two explore together, run around, jump of logs, and sway back and forth. Other times, I had them take in the moment and think about the coming years for them as a couple. It was really sweet to mix it up and try some new prompts. I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem in Newport Beach for engagement photoshoots, bridal portraits, or other couple’s photos sessions.
